Phi Delta Kappa is an international, professional fraternity in education. "The dedication of Susan and The Learning Source has made a tremendous impact in the lives of many local families by bringing family literacy programs into local schools," says Harry Chan, presenter of the award. The Learning Source for Adults and Families is a local non-profit organization working to educate metro Denver adults and families. Since 1964, The Learning Source has been providing adult basic education, GED preparation and English language acquisition classes for adults in the metro Denver area. Since 1989, the organization has been in the forefront of the development of family literacy programs that have been recognized by the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy and the National Center for Family Literacy in Louisville, Ky. Lythgoe
has served as executive director of The Learning Source since 1993. "We
are very honored to receive this award," says Lythgoe. "This
award is for our entire organization and all of our volunteers. It really
