What programs does The Learning Source for Adults and Families offer?
The Learning Source for Adults and Families offers Adult Basic Education/GED preparation courses and English Language Classes. Many of the English Language courses are now offered in the Family Literacy Centers so that the entire family can learn together.

What is the mission statement?
"We provide opportunities for motivated adult learners and families to attain their educational goals through adult and family literacy, GED preparation and English instruction."

What is the educational level of the students at the time of enrollment?
52% of the students enrolled at pre-literacy and beginning levels.
28% enrolled at intermediate functioning levels.
20% enrolled at advanced levels.

Does The Learning Source for Adults and Families work with any local businesses?
Yes, we partner with both agencies and Colorado businesses to educate potential and existing workforces. Groups that we work with include: Colorado Women's Employment & Education, Denver County Jail and Lowry Redevelopment Authority.

How long has the organization been in Denver?
The organization was started in 1964 in a church basement with only 40 students and 16 volunteers.

How many volunteers are there now?
We currently have approximately 100 volunteers but are always looking for more help!

How is The Learning Source for Adults and Families funded?
Since our beginnings in 1964 we have maintained a diverse group of funding sources. Currently, our funding comes from foundations, businesses, individuals, service organizations, grants and contracts.

What percentage of your funding goes directly to programs?
84% of our funding goes directly to our programs. Only 16% is used for administrative and fundraising purposes.

Why was the name of the organization changed to The Learning Source for Adults and Families?
Our mission was revised in 1993 to reflect our work with both adults and families in metro Denver. The name change was implemented to align our agency name with the work we are doing and our mission statement.
