As our higher education partner, Red Rocks Community College works with the retrofit industry to develop the certification program for the Energy Coaches.  Entering the certificate course guides into the CCCNS allows any community college in Colorado to use the standard curriculum guides to offer the Energy Coach training for their region.  Red Rocks Community college will convene annual Faculty Institutes to ensure the consistent instruction of the core Energy Coach curricula statewide through the Colorado Community College System.  Students will complete a field experience in Building Science to gain a full appreciation of the consumer experience in undergoing the energy analysis and subsequent retrofit. The Certificate will include project management, accounting, and sales curricula.  To complete the certificate students will be expected to complete a field internship to perfect the skills associated with customer relations and soft skills identified by the Colorado Business Advisory Council of the CDLE and taught by Learning Source staff.  Students will receive a stipend for the 135 hour internship that will carry college credit and count toward the credits required to complete the certificate program. The Certificate will be “stackable” in that students will be able to use the course credits to apply toward the Associate of Applied Science in Renewable Energy offered by Red Rocks Community College.
